Description

The Scan Safety Cut F Glove provides a high level of protection while maintaining the dexterity needed for day-to-day tasks. The 13g liner offers Cut F level protection, suitable for the majority of high risk tasks involving blades as well handling glass and heavy metals. Unlike gloves with steel fibres, these gloves are more dexterous and lightweight. 19% of the technical liner includes recycled polyester, reducing the use of virgin plastics in manufacturing. The sandy foam nitrile-dipped palms are resistant to oil and greases, making them suitable for use in both wet and dry conditions. An additional reinforced nitrile patch between the finger and thumb enhances grip, especially when using hand and power tools. These gloves are also compatible with touch screen electronic devices.

Standard EN ISO 21420

The EN 420 standard was revised in March 2020 becoming standard EN ISO 21420: 2020.

This standard defines the general requirements for protective gloves in terms of construction, fitness of purpose, safety, etc.

Standard EN388:2016

Providing protection for mechanical risks.

This standard applies to all kinds of protective gloves in respect of physical and mechanical aggressions caused by abrasion, blade cut, tearing, puncture and impact.

P = Impact P Pass or Fail

Protection against mechanical risks is expressed by a pictogram followed by a number rating representing test performance against a specific risk. The performance level is from 1-5, where 4 or 5 is the best result. X = not tested. P = Impact test passed.

The level of performance is based on the number of cycles/force required to penetrate the sample.

Abrasion resistance: based on the number of cycles required to abrade through the sample glove.

Blade cut resistance: based on the number of cycles required to cut through the sample at a constant speed.

Tear resistance: based on the amount of force required to tear the sample.

Puncture resistance: based on the amount of force required to pierce the sample with a standard sized point.

2nd Cut resistance: based on the number of cycles required to cut through the sample.

Impact protection: the area of protection is secured over a domed anvil and is impacted at an impact energy of 5J.
