Description

These Scan high-visibility trousers conform to EN ISO 20471 Class 1 and EN343 Class (3.1.X) for protective clothing against foul weather.
EN ISO 20471 Class 1 HV orange garments must be worn with a garment that complies with EN ISO 20471 Class 2 and RIS 3279 TOM Issue 2.
Retro-reflecting tape on the lower part of leg for extra visibility. They are made from 100% 300D polyester with a polyurethane coating to protect against foul weather. Waterproof seams are stitched and taped. The waist is elasticated for comfort.

High Visibility Clothing

High visibility garments maximize awareness of the wearer's presence even when the wearer is unaware of the proximity of others. The wearing of such garments on or near a working site is not only recommended, but is compulsory in many cases.

EN 20471

British Standard EN 20471 sets minimum standards of visual performance and durability needed for high visibility clothing worn in the course of a trade or profession and is mandatory.

BS EN 20471 provides for three classes of basic design (Classes 1, 2 and 3) and two levels of retro-reflectivity Level 1 and Level 2, appropriate to the risks in a particular occupational environment. (Level 2 gives the highest reflectivity).

RIS-3279-TOM - UK RAILWAY STANDARD

RIS-3279-TOM (formerly GO-RT 3279) is a high visibility standard that only applies to the rail industry in the UK, as opposed to the EU-wide nature of other EN standards.

The aim is to ensurethat rail workers on or near the trackside are sufficiently vivible to trains approaching at speed or any other traffic. See garments marked with an icon for conformity.
